We chose the Starfish Island excursion because we wanted a relaxing day on the beach. Belize is a tender port so we had to take a 15 minute motorized catamaran ride there and back. They had something for everyone on the island. There were kayaks to rent for a small fee, a small gift shop, playground for the kids, lots of shade and of course the beach and beautiful water. They also had a shallow pool area where they let you hold starfish and conchs.
They provided lunch which was pretty good but you couldn't use your sea pass to by drinks at the bar. Cash or credit card only. Also if you don't want to stay all day you can take the earlier ferry back if there is room. It's obvious the high scores were probably placed by the tender or island employee's.
We were sold on Starfish Island as a great beach get-away in Belize where they provide umbrellas and beach chairs and you'll enjoy beautiful sandy beaches and crystal clear waters.
After the overly-crowded tender ride to the island we were told that the meal and chairs were included and all else, including the ocean inflatable obstacle course were not free and there would be a charge. And also, we have sea grass in the water and they supposedly tried to clean it up and its still coming in.
