How long learn ollie

The first step to learning how to ollie is to get your back wheels into a crack in the concrete. Next, you need to understand your foot position. Only the ball of your foot should be on the tail of your skateboard.

You want ti to be slightly off the edge so you can snap it down hard and fast. Your other foot should be just down from the front bolts and straight on the board. Now that your feet are in position, you need to know what to do with your knees.

You front leg the one just down from the bolts will be bent at the knee with your back leg on the tail of the board will be out straight. Now you put all these movements together with speed and you have an ollie. Ethan Smith. Jaydon Weston. It took me about weeks to do a decent but not too high ollies whilst moving but I was practicing most days all day.

It took me 4 days to Ollie on the spot and then moving it took a few more days. Geoffry Cayton Jr. Kartikeya Kashiva. It took few more months to be able to do it while rolling. The timing between jumping off and tapping from back foot is most crucial. Got the front for slide easily. It took me two weeks to be good the stationary Ollie but I still haven't master it yet so think it will take about 1 or 2 months to master the stationary and moving Ollie.

Good Luck! I was practicing pretty regularly for an entire month before i landed my first legit ollie. Took me about 2 months to learn a nice balanced ollie but took me 1 week to at least get 2cm off the ground.

Ben Ari Maymon. Probably like 6 months i had my stationary ollies down in 2 weeks, but it also depends upon the person, if you practise practise practise then you can even get ollies down in couple of months. Jacob Ambler. With in the first hour of picking up a board I could perfectly do an ollie.

I did it in two weeks after i got my first board, but im pretty sure its because i could already RIDE a skateboard lol.

Natalia Fedoun. About two years, if your not getting it just kept trying you'll eventually get it. I thought I would never get it. But just wait it will come to you. Idk i just skated regulary cruising around and one day i decided to try an ollie and i did cuz i was confortable with my board.

Nikolas Zavarakatranemia. Ryder Meinhardt. Matome Talakgale. Eng Tanawan Wetchayanwivat. The board got off the group about 5 cm for only 3 hrs but I had to put lots of effort on it. Lars Bogaert. If the boards is flattening you havent done it. Just poping the tail up then slamming your feet down isnt it.

There are so many other thing that go into doing this trick. This is where you learn pop, foot placement, foot movement, landing, timing, fear, falling, etc. This is the hardest trick to learn and if you end up being able to really ollie clean you will have accomplished something that most people neven will. It still is average. My current goal is ollie while moving. It took me a month to get the standing ollie to a reasonable level.

It helped met to film myself and compare it to youtube tutorials. Practising was frustrating and also great to have something to analyse. A very long time! Over a year of on and off skateboarding but if you compressed the hours of physically being on my skateboarding trying ollies then maybe a few days straight. Always different for everyone though. Beb The Skater. About 3 weeks to get them while moving with both feet on but there not good yet.

Sam Rohr. For me its was like a day to make 15 cm high. Just be sure to do small kick whit front leg. It took me about weeks to learn to Ollie pretty solid, but just on flat. Olivier Studzizur. Austin Kim. Artjom SB. William Price. Umm like a month but everyday for 1 to 2 hours slaming my head on the same place. I am 14 years old to get my Ollie to 10 cm took me a 3 days. But I really didn stop I try and try.

Rhys Clennon. Since getting the board and practicing almost everyday, almost 2 and a half months. Lillyana Garner. Austin Gibson. Practice sliding your front food more outward. Braille skateboarding made simple the Ollie is really descriptive on how to practice that. A couple of hours to get a tiny ollie but about a month to get it about a foot.

About 2 months to get the back wheel off and then probably another 6 or 7 to do a textbook ollie. Helder Velez. It took me 2 weeks to learn it and I only get a good one like every three tries. Comprehending how to get ollieing right is a challenge for most beginners but it is very doable and there are ways to speed up your progress too. Ollieing while in motion is a bit than doing so while stationary but it is best for mastering the trick.

The reason a lot of people conclude that this method is harder is mostly born from their fear of falling off a moving board. Doing tricks generally is always comes after you have learned how to ride. Learning how to ride means you have gone over or greatly mastered your fear of falling.

If you know how to ride, doing an ollie is not difficult as people will have you believe. This is because falling is inevitable while learning skating skills and the best way to fall is to fall while in motion. Just keep practising and watching others pull it off. Like I mentioned previously if you attempt pulling off an ollie while stationary and you fall, you are sure to get badly injured. In my opinion, the more the better. The trick is just knowing when to chill and let your muscles relax and adjust to memorize the motions.

It might seem difficult, but just keep practising. The two most important parts to pulling off an ollie are getting the accurate movements and having total confidence that you can pull it off.

First, you want to perfect your balance. It is important you use your core, legs, feet, shoulders, and arms to balance. Doing an ollie is just about popping your talk and sliding your front foot. Before you proceed to kick your tail, first stand on your board and jump up and land on it. That movement will make your body get accustomed to the feeling of jumping and landing on your board.
