Any group size can be catered for. There is no minimum group size and providing there is availability, the maximum is the full centre capacity, splitting into smaller groups for activities.
Groups sleep in rooms with capacity as follows: Staffordshire: 6 to 12 bed dorms Peak Venture: 4 to 8 bed dorms Dearne Valley: 4 to 8 bed dorms. Classrooms are available to use throughout your residential. Please contact us directly to find out more about our computer labs. All Kingswood staff go through health and safety training and there are first aiders on site at all times. Kingswood endeavour to make centres accessible to as many young people as possible.
Experience has taught us that the best way to understand the extent, and limitations, of the provision centres offer, is for party leaders to visit the centre itself and discuss the requirements with the management team on site.
However, Kingswood encourage party leaders to contact the management team to arrange SEN provisions. There are three Kingswood residential adventure centres within easy reach of the Midlands — the original Kingswood Staffordshire centre; Peak Venture, with the beautiful Peak District on its doorstep and Dearne Valley, set in the former Earth Centre near Doncaster. Our brilliant experiences for young people help them shake off the stresses of the past year and make memories which will stay with them for the rest of their lives.
The three Kingswood centres near the Midlands each have something unique to offer: Kingswood Staffordshire in Wolverhampton is an exciting venue for outdoor adventure and learning in a picturesque and easily accessible location.
It is ideally suited for younger students, with all activities close to the main buildings including team building challenges, indoor initiatives and outdoor apparatus such as climbing and zipwire. With the beautiful Peak District on its doorstep, Kingswood Peak Venture is the prefect venue for younger students to explore nature with specially designed bushcraft sessions, nature walks and environmental modules. The centre offers a watersports area on the adjacent Scout Dike Reservoir, offering activities such as canoeing and raft building.
Dearne Valley, set in the stunning surroundings of the former Earth Centre is South Yorkshire offers a unique blend of nature and adventurous activities. Spread across 50 acres, this centre is one large outdoor classroom with opportunities for interactive learning across grassland, woodland and wetland plus a wealth of outdoor adventure activities.
